    About

In her work, Cato uses illustrations and text to convey ideas. She is specialised in translating philosophical concepts into images. Her drawings are featured in books, magazines, digital newspapers and academic publications, and used as course material in philosophy classes at several universities.

Cato studied arts and design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, and Utrecht University. In 2023, she won the Fiep Westendorp Award for her illustrations. With this award she works on the project “Where is my mind?”, in which she visualises ideas from philosophy of psychiatry.
